Four young faculty honored with Hettleman awards

Four highly promising faculty members at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill have been awarded the Phillip and Ruth Hettleman Prizes for Artistic and Scholarly Achievement by Young Faculty, an honor that recognizes the achievements of outstanding junior tenure-track faculty or recently tenured faculty. Two of the faculty members are in the College of Arts and Sciences.

UNC ranks 5th best public university nationwide

Carolina ranks fifth among the nation’s best public universities for the 13th consecutive year, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2014 guidebook America’s Best Colleges. In related US News results, Carolina ranks: 1st among national public universities and 17th overall in “Great Schools, Great Prices,” based on academic quality and net costs of attendance.
