Peter Blair Henry, dean of New York University’s Stern School of Business, will share findings from his new book, “Turnaround: Third World Lessons for First World Growth,” during a public discussion at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 26 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s FedEx Global Education Center.
Henry will respond to questions by William B. Harrison Jr., former chair and chief executive officer of JPMorgan Chase & Co. and chair of the UNC Global Advisory Board, in the Nelson Mandela Auditorium. A reception and book signing will immediately follow.
In “Turnaround,” Henry, a UNC-Chapel Hill graduate, examines the central question of why many developing countries weathered the storm of the Great Recession better than the traditional great power nations of the developed world. He led Barack Obama’s presidential transition team in its review of international lending agencies, including the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
The event is sponsored by the Global Research Institute, UNC Global, the economics department in the College of Arts and Sciences, Kenan-Flagler Business School, New Student and Carolina Parent Programs, the Alumni Committee on Racial and Ethnic Diversity, and the Institute for the Arts and Humanities and the Institute for the Study of the Americas, both in the College.
The FedEx Global Education Center is located at 301 Pittsboro St. Parking is available in the garage under the building beginning at 5 p.m.
