Bestselling author Daniel Wallace and singer-songwriter Django Haskins will present a unique combination of music, storytelling and impromptu conversation Jan. 11 at the Friday Center for Continuing Education.
“Fables in Story and Song” will begin at 8 p.m., as part of the center’s “Under the Atrium” series. Tickets are $10 in advance through the Carolina Union box office or $12 at the door. Wallace is the author of five novels, including “Big Fish,” made into a motion picture by Tim Burton in 2003. A musical version recently opened on Broadway. He is the J. Ross MacDonald Distinguished Professor of English at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he teaches and directs the creative writing program.
Haskins has recorded nine albums of his songs, and his music has been featured in many indie and major films and TV. He tours both solo and with his band, The Old Ceremony.
“We’re lucky to have artists of this caliber living right here in the Triangle,” said Friday Center Director Rob Bruce. “I’m really excited to see them performing together at this year’s Under the Atrium event.”
