On Sept. 14, 2018, Dean Kevin Guskiewicz sent out a survey to all 2,060 faculty and staff who are affiliated in some way with the College of Arts & Sciences, asking for their views on the Confederate Monument known as Silent Sam. Nearly 400 responses were received. The survey asked three open-ended questions, and responses were anonymous.
The Dean’s Office prepared the following executive summary to highlight key takeaways and to provide some quantitative analysis to a qualitative survey.
