New initiative to examine ‘race, memory and reimagining the public university’

Meredith Emery is the University’s seventh Beinecke Scholar

Meredith Emery, a studio art major and geography minor, was recently selected for the prestigious Beinecke Scholarship. The Beinecke Scholarship, a program of The Sperry Fund, recognized Emery’s impressive achievements with a $34,000 award to attend graduate school in the arts, humanities or social sciences.

Three from UNC-Chapel Hill elected to American Academy of Arts and Sciences

Three faculty members from UNC-Chapel Hill — Kathleen M. Harris, Jodi Magness and Bryan L. Roth — have been elected into the American Academy of Arts & Sciences. Harris (sociology) and Magness (religious studies) are in UNC’s College of Arts & Sciences.
