A physicist and cellist reprise their performance

Physicist Laurie McNeil and musician Brent Wissick have taught the first-year seminar, “The Interplay of Music and Physics,” for one semester each year, for 12 consecutive years, beginning in 1999. This past spring, after a five-year hiatus, McNeil and Wissick reunited to teach the course for a 13th time.

Continuing a passion for science after graduation

After graduation, Sierra Atwater will head to South Africa, where she’ll work for a STEM education startup company on encouraging young girls to get involved in science. She’s taking a gap year before applying to medical school, and she hopes to incorporate a love of STEM education into her future career.
