Musicology and Royster Fellow alumnus rocks career on Motown

Former UNC doctoral student Andrew Flory, now an assistant professor of music at Carleton College, is an expert in rhythm and blues music. His particular focus is the music of Motown, and he has a book coming out in summer 2017 titled “I Hear a Symphony: Motown and Crossover R&B.” The UNC Graduate School recently spoke with Flory about how his graduate education in musicology prepared him for a career that is hitting all the right notes.
