(Aug. 13) Amy Gladfelter, associate professor of biology, is interested in how cells are organized in time and space, studying how cytoplasm is spatially patterned and how cells sense their own shape. Her team also investigates how timing in the cell division cycle can be highly variable yet still accurate. Gladfelter combines quantitative live cell microscopy and computational, genetic and biochemical approaches in fungal and mammalian cells. Listen to Amy Gladfelter’s episode.

(Aug. 27) William Vizuete, Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering, uses high-performance computers and 3D simulations to model the atmosphere to understand how air pollution forms and to improve the tools and methods that policymakers use to make effective strategies to improve air quality, creating a healthier environment for everyone.
