UNC-Chapel Hill’s Be a Maker program is a network of makerspaces where Carolina’s maker community design and make physical objects for education, research, entrepreneurship and recreation. Students can participate in open studios, training sessions, workshops, hosted classes and group activities in spaces equipped with emerging technologies like 3D printing as well as wood and metalworking shops.

A graphic that talks about the four campus makerspaces, located in Murray and Carmichael Halls, the Hanes Art Center and Kenan Science Library -- are designed for the Carolina community to connect with one another to designa nd create physical objects for education, research, entrepreneurshp and recreation. There are 4 campus makerspaces, 4,000 makerspace users, 28,000-plus visits made to Campus makerspaces, and 50,000-plus hours spent at makerspaces.
