New programs are listed below by location and first semester of offering.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>UNC Jewish Studies in Buenos Aires Summer (Summer 2015)<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Study Abroad Office, the Department of Romance Studies and the Carolina Center for Jewish Studies are delighted to offer a new undergraduate summer study abroad program in Jewish studies in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This will be a faculty-led program focusing on Jewish life and culture in Buenos Aires, one of the most multicultural and historically diverse cities in Latin America. The Jewish culture and history of Buenos Aires will be studied in a transnational frame, addressing immigration and global issues.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>Queen\u2019s University Belfast \u2013 Exchange (Fall 2015)<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Located in the capital city of Northern Ireland, Queen\u2019s University Belfast offers an immersive experience for exchange students seeking credit in fields of study such as dramatic art, history, international politics and conflict studies and the sciences. Queen\u2019s is a member of the Russell Group of leading United Kingdom research intensive universities and is ranked in the top 1% of the universities in the world. Queen\u2019s has one of the most modern campuses in the UK with an award-winning library, a remodeled student union, a state-of-the-art physical education center and new student accommodations.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>Math in Moscow (Fall 2015)<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Department of Mathematics and the Study Abroad Office are happy to announce that a new program is available for math majors in Moscow, Russia. Students will be able to take higher level math courses in a small class environment with some of the most recognized mathematicians in the world. Courses are taught in English, with the exception of a required Russian language course.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>Journalism and Mass Communication (JOMC) Global Immersion: China (Summer 2015)<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This short-term global immersion to Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong will give journalism and mass communication majors and minors an introduction to the Chinese media market, the most dominant emerging media system in the world. The program will teach students how journalists and strategic communication professionals work in this market, expose students to issues related to communicating with diverse groups of people, prepare them for working within the Chinese culture, and address ethical issues for journalists and strategic communication professionals. Professor Adam Saffer will lead the program with assistance from Michael Penny, assistant director of professional and international programs for the School of Journalism and Mass Communication.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>National University of Singapore: UNC-NUS Joint Degree in Biology (Academic Year 2015)<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Eligible UNC undergraduates in the College of Arts and Sciences can take two to four semesters of classes at the National University of Singapore and earn diplomas from both universities within four years! The NUS-UNC joint degree program is the first of its kind at the undergraduate level among UNC\u2019s peer campuses in the United States. Biology is the newest major to be added to the joint degree program. The NUS Department of Biological Sciences is a premier department with strengths in areas such as biodiversity and biophysical sciences that complement UNC\u2019s Biology Department. Research opportunities abound at NUS as well. Though academics are the focus of this program, the exciting opportunity to live in Singapore should not be overlooked!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>Korea University \u2013 Exchange (Fall 2015)<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Korea University\u2019s variety of academic choice, combined with the quality of academics and level of student support offered by KU\u2019s Office of International Affairs, make this exchange an excellent option, particularly for students who wish to spend a semester or year advancing their Korean language skills. Culture courses and activities are offered through KU\u2019s Korean Language and Culture Center. Additionally, KU offers over 100 student organizations that welcome international student participation.
