{"id":9105,"date":"2014-10-13T14:40:39","date_gmt":"2014-10-13T19:40:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/college.unc.edu\/?p=9105"},"modified":"2024-07-02T14:43:25","modified_gmt":"2024-07-02T14:43:25","slug":"climatetalk14","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/collegearchive.unc.edu\/?p=9105","title":{"rendered":"Carolina Climate Change Seminar to hold talks Oct. 23-24"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill College of Arts and Sciences will host the seventh annual Carolina Climate Change Seminar Oct. 23-24 on campus.<\/p>\n<p>The public seminar features Inez Fung from the University of California, Berkeley and is titled <em>Carbon Dioxide from Space: Towards Climate Treaty Verification<\/em>. It will take place on Thursday, Oct. 23, at the FedEx Global Education Center Nelson Mandela Auditorium and a reception will follow in the lobby.<\/p>\n<p>Fung is a distinguished member of the National Academy of Sciences and a contributor to the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize awarded to the Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Oct. 24, in the Tate-Turner-Kuralt Auditorium, a technical talk titled <em>Water, Plant and Climate: Assessing the Climatic Impacts of Afforestation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Both engagements are free to the public.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For more information<\/strong>: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geosci.unc.edu\/page\/7th-annual-carolina-climate-change\">http:\/\/www.geosci.unc.edu\/page\/7th-annual-carolina-climate-change<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill College of Arts and Sciences will host the seventh annual Carolina Climate Change Seminar Oct. 23-24 on campus.
