\"ShakespeareMasterPlayMakers\"<\/a>Arts Midwest in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) has announced that PlayMakers Repertory Company is one of 40 nonprofit, professional theater companies nationwide to be awarded a grant as part of the Shakespeare in American Communities program.<\/p>\n

The program introduces middle and high school students to the power of live theater and the masterpieces of William Shakespeare.<\/p>\n

The $25,000 grant will support the theater\u2019s fall 2014 production and related educational activities, such as in-school residencies, workshops and post-performance discussions, for Shakespeare\u2019s magical \u201cA Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream.\u201d PlayMakers will perform the romantic comedy Nov. 1 to Dec. 7 in rotating repertory with Stephen Sondheim\u2019s tour de force Tony Award-winning musical \u201cInto the Woods.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tickets for \u201cInto the Woods\u201d and \u201cA Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream\u201d are currently available as part of PlayMakers\u2019 2014-2015 Season subscription packages. Tickets to individual productions go on sale in mid-July.<\/p>\n
