Carolina\u2019s own AFROTC Detachment 590 earned the 2013 \u201cRight of Line Award\u201d for the best small detachment in the country over 58 other candidates.<\/p>\n
This award is given out annually to the small detachment in the Air Force, comprised of 75 or fewer cadets, who best excels in the areas of \u201cTraining, Education, Recruiting and Retention, University and Public Relations, and Cadet Activities.\u201d<\/p>\n
Detachment 590 Commander, Lt Col Brad Green, USAF, had this to say about the award:<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were pleasantly surprised when we won this award.\u00a0It is really a testament to our staff\u2019s hard work and the high quality of cadets we have in our program. Our group is extremely motivated and certainly deserved it.\u00a0Our job is to build tomorrow\u2019s leaders in the Air Force and to make sure they are ready to do so by the time they graduate and commission, as our cadets will soon be flying and maintaining our country\u2019s high tech aircraft, manning missile silos, and treating patients in military hospitals.\u00a0When the news broke about the award, I challenged our detachment by telling them that now that we have set the bar high, we have a title to defend next year!\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
