DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER.) <\/strong>University of Toronto professor emeritus of history Modris Eksteins will discuss the legacy of World War I in a free public lecture Feb. 25 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.<\/p>\n<p>Eksteins will discuss the \u201cThe Great War: The Great Divide\u201d <strong>at 6:45 p.m.<\/strong> in the Pleasants Family Assembly Room in Wilson Library for the 2015 Mary Stevens Reckford Memorial Lecture. A Q&amp;A session and reception will follow. The talk is sponsored by the Institute for the Arts and Humanities in UNC\u2019s College of Arts and Sciences.<\/p>\n<p>Eksteins\u2019s discussion is a part of the \u201cWorld War I: The Legacy\u201d initiative sponsored by the Institute and King\u2019s College London that spans the 2014-2015 academic year.<\/p>\n<p>In his talk, Eksteins will examine how World War I evoked a \u201ccrisis of authority\u201d in the Western world. This crisis, evident in politics and daily life, also had a dramatic impact on the arts.
