Academic advisers at UNC were recently recognized with national and campus advising awards.<\/p>\n

Three academic advisers in the College of Arts and Sciences have won 2013 national advising awards for making significant contributions to the advancement of academic advising.<\/p>\n

The awards will be presented by the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) at its annual conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, Oct. 6-9.<\/p>\n

National Winners:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Roger Kaplan,<\/strong> senior adviser in fine arts and humanities, is a winner in the Outstanding Primary Adviser role. Joy Renner, <\/strong>faculty adviser in natural sciences and mathematics, is a winner in the Outstanding Faculty Adviser role. Melissa Edwards,<\/strong> senior adviser in social and behavioral sciences, won a certificate of merit in the Outstanding New Adviser role.<\/p>\n

Six academic advisers were also honored April 23 with UNC campus advising awards.<\/p>\n
