It runs July 17-28.<\/p>\n<p>The production is directed by Tracy Bersley.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Featuring the Grammy-nominated score by Martin and Brickell, Broadway\u2019s <em>Bright Star<\/em> tells a sweeping tale of love and redemption set against the rich backdrop of the American South in the 1920s and \u201940s. Inspired by a real event, set in many familiar locations in North Carolina. Propelled by an ensemble of onstage musicians and dancers, the story unfolds as a rich tapestry of deep emotion, beautiful melodies and powerfully moving performances. It\u2019s a theatrical experience as refreshingly genuine as it is daringly hopeful.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt takes only one production such as \u201cBright Star\u201d to understand his [Martin] and Brickell\u2019s ability to enthrall an audience with an engrossing story and wonderful songs that aid in telling their heartfelt and fun story\u201d<br \/>\n<small>La Jolla Light<\/small><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Bright Star<\/em> is the culmination of PlayMakers\u2019 <a href=\"http:\/\/playmakersrep.org\/season\/summer-youth-conservatory\/\">Summer Youth Conservatory<\/a>, a six-week practicum for high school students \u2014 both on stage and behind the scenes \u2014 combining top-notch teaching with unparalleled practical experience.
