Carolina’s innovative learning techniques are featured in a May 6 online article in The Chronicle of Higher Education, <\/em>“Traditional Teaching May Deepen Inequality. Can a Different Approach Fix It?”<\/a><\/p>\n

The article features the work of Kelly Hogan, STEM teaching associate professor and assistant dean of instructional innovation in the College of Arts & Sciences, and explains how the university is using innovative, evidence-based teaching methods that close achievement gaps.\u00a0

“Inclusive teaching has two main components: putting more structure into a course, giving clear instructions so that all students know what to do before, during, and after class; and thoughtfully facilitating class discussion, so that everyone can participate,” according to the article by writer Beckie Supiano.<\/p>\n
