will be held at the William and Ida Friday Center for Continuing Education on March 23.<\/p>\n<p>Doors open at 7 p.m. and the screening starts at 7:30 p.m. for the campus event.<\/p>\n<p>The series will air on the National Geographic Channel beginning April 3.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Story of God will take viewers on a trip around the world to explore different cultures and religions on the ultimate quest to uncover the meaning of life, God and all the questions in between.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The on-campus screening will also feature a panel discussion with James Younger, producer of the series, as well as UNC faculty members\/Ph.D. students:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jodi Magness (Early Judaism),<\/li>\n<li>Jason Staples (Early Christianity),<\/li>\n<li>Brendan Thornton (Religion in the Americas),<\/li>\n<li>Carl Ernst (Islam),<\/li>\n<li>Lauren Leve (Buddhism and Hinduism).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The event is hosted by the UNC department of religious studies and the Carolina Center for Jewish Studies in partnership with &#8220;Different Drummer.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/channel.nationalgeographic.com\/the-story-of-god-with-morgan-freeman\/videos\/story-of-god-trailer\/\">Watch a trailer.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A world premiere and panel discussion of the National Geographic Channel six-part series, &#8220;The Story of God with Morgan Freeman,&#8221;
