They&#8217;ve written a new book, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.palgrave.com\/cn\/book\/9781137484970\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;Walking\u00a0Histories, 1800-1914&#8221;<\/a> (Palgrave Macmillan\/2016).<\/p>\n<p>Does globalization hurt poor workers? <a href=\"http:\/\/laynamosley.web.unc.edu\/\">Layna Mosley<\/a>, professor of political science at UNC-Chapel Hill, writes in T<em>he Washington Post<\/em> that &#8220;it&#8217;s complicated.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mosley is the author of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/us\/academic\/subjects\/politics-international-relations\/comparative-politics\/labor-rights-and-multinational-production?format=AR\"><em>Labor Rights and Multinational Production <\/em><\/a><em>and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0521521629\/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=thewaspos09-20&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;creativeASIN=0521521629&amp;linkId=1eeeeea9323285bcf97db1c53cdb40de\">Global Capital and National Governments<\/a>. <\/em>Her research focuses on the connections between the global economy and domestic policy outcomes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Social sciences faculty have been featured recently in publications from NPR&#8217;s &#8220;The State of Things&#8221;
