He is a nationally recognized expert on constitutional conflicts and the author of numerous law review articles and five books. A Q&amp;A will follow the discussion.<\/p>\n<p>Totenberg will appear on campus as the 2016-17 Frey Foundation Distinguished Visiting Professor in UNC\u2019s College of Arts and Sciences.<\/p>\n<p>Totenberg\u2019s coverage of legal affairs and the Supreme Court has won her widespread recognition. <em>Newsweek <\/em>says, \u201cThe mainstays [of NPR] are <em>Morning Edition<\/em> and <em>All Things Considered<\/em>. But the cr\u00e8me de la cr\u00e8me is Nina Totenberg.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Totenberg\u2019s reports air regularly on NPR\u2019s critically acclaimed news magazines, <em>All Things Considered<\/em>, <em>Morning Edition<\/em>\u00a0and <em>Weekend Edition. <\/em>A frequent contributor to major newspapers and periodicals, she has published articles in the<em> New York Times Magazine,<\/em> the<em> Harvard Law Review, <\/em>the <em>Christian Science Monitor, Parade <\/em>magazine<em>, New York Magazine <\/em>and others.<\/p>\n<p>Before joining NPR in 1975, Totenberg served as Washington editor of <em>New Times Magazine<\/em>, and before that she was the legal affairs correspondent for the <em>National Observer<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>She has won every major journalism award in broadcasting, and is the only radio journalist to have won the National Press Foundation award for Broadcaster of the Year.<\/p>\n<p>The College\u2019s promotional partners include UNC\u2019s School of Law and School of Media and Journalism.<\/p>\n<p>The Frey Foundation Distinguished Visiting Professorship was established in 1989 to bring leaders from a variety of fields, including government, public policy, international affairs and the arts, to UNC-Chapel Hill. The foundation was established in 1974 by Edward J. and Frances Frey of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
