The show will run Nov. 18-Dec. 12, with special events associated with the production beginning Nov. 9.<\/p>\n<p>In this whimsical and hilarious origin story of J.M. Barrie\u2019s \u201cBoy Who Never Grew Up,\u201d an apprentice Starcatcher and an orphan boy take to the high seas encountering Lost Boys, pirates, fighting mollusks and mermaids. PlayMakers invites one and all to come along for a wildly theatrical holiday treat with a dozen actors portraying more than 100 unforgettable characters in a story that will delight adults and children alike.<\/p>\n<p>Entertainment Weekly describes \u201cPeter and the Starcatcher\u201d as &#8220;an absurdly funny fantastical journey.&#8221; The New York Times review raved, &#8220;With grown-up theatrical savvy and a child\u2019s wonder &#8230; this show never stops flying.&#8221; <em>New York Magazine<\/em> called it &#8220;Miraculous. Spectacle, wit and joy spill out of this production like treasure from a magic pocket.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Tony Award-winning play is by Rick Elice based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, with music by Wayne Barker.<\/p>\n<p>00Performances will take place in the Paul Green Theatre in the Center for Dramatic Art on Country Club Road. The event is free and open to the public. Participants share coffee and hors d\u2019oeuvres provided by series sponsor Jujube Restaurant, learn about the vision for the show and get a sneak peek at the sets and costumes in progress.
