The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has always been rich in legends and traditions. One popular legend says that if you take a sip of water from the Old Well on the first day of classes, you’ll get a 4.0 GPA. While that 4.0 grade point average may remain elusive, many young Tar Heels still love the tradition of stopping by the Old Well at the start of the school year. On August 21, thousands of students flocked to the Old Well to get a quick sip of good luck.
